Altes Hallenbad

A platform for the bold and new.

Where once the students of the world-famous Stella Matutina convent used to swim laps, a flexible event space now offers room for diversity, initiative, experimentation and creativity.

The unaltered, simple architecture of the building and the unobtrusive exterior façade reflect the conditions inside: the space is characterized by clear structures and large, no-frill rooms. Thanks to this simplicity and purity, there are virtually no constraints as to what could be made of this space, given enough creativity.

As the only location in Vorarlberg, the Altes Hallenbad (lit. “former indoor swimming pool”) offers an infrastructure for creatives to develop art and culture over a longer period of time.

Variety of events
The cultural district of Reichenfeld on the edge of the historic city is a green oasis. The Altes Hallenbad, which is right in the middle of it, is also an oasis of wide-ranging cultural impulses. The “Stage for Culture and Art” enriches the cultural life of the whole region and is a popular meeting place for people interested in art and culture. There are numerous possibilities to implement ideas in these flexible spaces.

Space for artistic flourishing
Cultural and artistic projects can be developed on two levels: the former swimming pool on the ground floor and the former gymnasium on the first floor are ideal for large-scale events. In addition, there is a spacious bar area, wardrobes and a room for the back office.

A place with history
From being Vorarlberg’s first indoor swimming pool, then becoming a military hospital during the Second World War, to your event venue: the Altes Hallenbad has a rich history with many stories to tell.
